You've got to work the clutch a little bit during that shift. I've noticed it to be a little smoother after time (maybe I'm just getting used to it).

Hilarious story...but mine has never required two clicks to unlock the fuel. It's open so long as driver door is unlocked. Are you sure?

Yup, if I had to do it again, I'd think seriously about skipping the 'roof. But it's so nice to pop it open on a sunny day.....there's really no good solution except to crack the rear window and tilt my helmeted head...

I'm pretty sure the manual said one click opens the driver's door, and two opens everything -- maybe they changed it for 99.5? I'll check again when I get home...

Default LOL at my desk at work...oh gosh this is too true.....

The first tank o gas I got I too couldn't figure out the door....see there's an advantage to being female (sorry guys about the next part)...the (male) Benz driver across from me saw me pulling on the door to no avail, pacing the car, and he said "um miss try pushing on the opposite end of the filler door- sometimes that works"..... uh, yup...<p>

On my '98.5, one push of the remote unlocks the driver's door and the fuel filler flap. (Page 17 of manual)
