torque converter HELP!!! Please...

I m ready to replace my TC took it of and I found this ring but on my new one the ring is not there is this part of the tranny (I am changing the tranny too) or what? And if not can someone get me the part # for this ring and or where can I get it (already have seal)this is the # from he ring it self

this happens when the TC isn't fully seated in the pump/trans when the trans is bolted onto the motor. Whoever did that didn't read their Bentley very well to see the required clearance spec. that ring is actually part of the ATF pump and the pump is now trash.
replacing the pump involves dropping the pan, pulling the valve body, and pulling the 4 rubber tubes exposed above the VB. Then pull the numerous bolts on the front of the trans anchoring the ATF pump. Make a makeshift puller to pull the pump out from the front.
edit: after re-reading your post I'm not sure which is your old part and which is your new part. A little added punctuation might help clear it up.
