I'm trying to figure out the benefits of using an OEM towbar (trailer hitch) wiring kit vs. making my own for a B5 A4.
I believe the OEM towbar wiring kit is made by Westfalia, but thier site and manual don't seem to have much detailed information about the function of the wiring kit.
buddyracing - is your OEM wiring a 7 pin or 13 pin euro plug? Do you notice anything different in displays or notifications on the dash when your trailer is attached? When a bulb goes out, how are you notified?
Thanks - Chris

Pep boys had a kit that I used in my car. It was something like this one.

i then drilled a spot for a trailer wiring plug.
