Default The dealer in Denver said the same ... the dealer in the Springs recommended a drain/fill ...

.... that was 20K ago (89K on the car now), no problems and I certainly hope there won't be. He said he didn't want to a flush, but he does a lot of drain/fills and he hasn't seen any issues.

Default i have M1 75w90 (gl5) in my rear diff, and redline mtl-90 (gl4) in my tranny

m1 will coorode your brass syncros in your trans, so you need a gl4 fluid....like redline.

i used to have royal purple in both, and it sucked ***** in cold weather, so it got the boot after 30k. now the trans and diff are much happier (smoother) in the cold weather.

RP works well.RL is probally best.M1/GL-5 will "work" but incorrect friction coefficient for syncros

So the M1 75w90 (gl5) is fine for the rear diff?

Nope, modern GL-5 gear oils no longer contain active sulphur compounds, sir.

Default M1 does according to their data sheet.

"Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-90 combines wax-free synthesized hydrocarbon base oils and a specially designed extreme-pressure, limited-slip, sulfur-phosphorous additive system to provide a significantly higher level of performance in rear axles and differentials versus conventional fluids."
