is it possible to put a transmission oil cooler on the A4? I can feel my tranny heating up quite often and would like to explore the possibility of a cooler.

Anyone try this yet?

there are no known issues with manual trannies heating up. it's more of an issue for slushboxes.

I was assuming it was the tranny. All my heat sheilds look good.

i'm driving one with an autobox....
when it heats up, there is more power loss right? but to what extend?

The issue was mainly with older auto trannies on american cars. When driven at high speeds (like 100mph+) for extended periods of time, these trannies would heat up like crazy and fail. I am pretty sure the modern auto tranny on your audi does not suffer from such problems. It may still warm up quite a bit, but I don't think it's a cause for concern. At least I have not heard any issues - maybe some auto tranny owners can correct me here.
