Default Transmission Seems to slip in 2nd...

It was serviced less than 10,000mi ago..not to sure exactly whats going on...also it seems Im having a little power loss in the 2.8, doesn't feel like its really picking up as well as it should be..I just filled up with premium chevron yesterday, not sure if thats it, but if anyone's got any suggestions let me know..and don't say I need to get a 1.8t!

Default my tranny slips too....

specially in the morning when the oil is still cold. itll put itself into neutral when coming a sudden stop or when i take a turn too quickly. after a couple seconds itll jerk and work as if nothign is wrong. the oil level is good.

Default I would definately have the ATF level checked. If you didn't have the problem before the ATF

service, I would have it checked out. Can you feel the torque converter lock-up coupling lock-up between 2nd and 3rd? If so, that's a sign your ATF level may be low.

Default Are you checking the ATF properly and using the correct fluid?

That is sometimes the first sign that the tranny is on its way out. I would make sure you monitor that tranny temp when you check the fluid, use the OEM fluid, and change every 50K.

Default Yep, he is one of the best in the area for Audi inde. mechanics.

So, I would bet he did check the ATF correctly. I think your auto tranny might be on its way out, sad to say. I would talk with Jose about it soon. You may want to leave your car there so he can experience that at cold start-up.

Default 1 month or 10 years..lol

My auto A4 1.8T tranny will have 10 years in 10/2006..this year! And it has never had ill symptoms. I bet mine lasts much longer than 10 years. But...I baby the hell out of my car and she only has 62,500mi., which is good for a 9/96 build A4 1.8T.
