Default Transmission trouble

I have recently purchased a 1998 audi a4 quattro 2.8L auto. I started to notice that the transmission slips sometimes when shifting gears. I have changed ATF to mobil 1 synthetic and also changed auto transmission filter. After the fluid and filter change the problem has gone gotten better has not gone away. What are some other options to rid this problem. Thanks for any help

You might at least try pulling the pan off again, and also the solenoids. I read somewhere, mayby an A8 forum, that a guy found small screens in the valve body, above the solenoid valves, that were clogged with debris. He cleaned these and restored his trans. You could also try a different fluid; I use Valvoline Maxlife ATF in my 186,000 mile A4, shifts nice. If yours still slips, maybe clutches or piston seals are just too worn. As to the Lucas fluid, I have been told by people who should know not to use it.

I'm looking at ATF changes as well, just realized I'm 90,000 miles in and haven't changed it, and noticed you said you used Mobile 1? Well it's not for Audi Tiptronic!!! Got to use G052162A2 or equivalent.

Run output tests, check codes, recheck fluid level. Diagnose. Skip the snake oil.

I am very new to audi, I have just purchased a vag-com. Could you link a couple of other threads that will help me to diagnose the problem. Thanks again
