Default Transplanting Bose components into non Bose?...

My son is replacing his factory BOSE system in his '96 A4 with aftermarket components. The rear speakers in my '99 A4 non BOSE are pretty poor. I know there are some funky thinks about the BOSE speakers but can they be used with a non-BOSE system? I'm not interested in replacing my head unit just the rear speakers which are very weak.

Would it be worthwhile to swap the entire system out? Or is the BOSE stuff worth more on e-bay?

Default I think the general consenses on here is BOSE = garbage.

I don't think itd be a worthwhile upgrade IMO.

Default 2nd skip on bose - good rears are like 150 for the pair recomend infinity

and watch out when you pull the back liner out - and put it back in - one of those clips can rip the membrane of your new speaker - i did it to my rear - i just use some super glue and electric tape and put it back together

Default It's also a HUGE pain to wire it all up. A set of even $50-70 Polk/Blau/Boston/Anythings

will be a huge improvement over the stockers AND the Blose as well.

Default ""-i replaced both my front door speakers with polk db's

they sound much better than the bose after one of them went out, it was just a little troublesome because the speaker mounting was in a triangle shape and i needed to make a new hole for my new 4 screw speakers...but worth it =) very happy with the results...

Default Up to sixty-nine when they're REALLY blowing...

I'm quite proud of that one.
