Default Trip Computer Display

Hi all...Moved to the A4 forums from the A3 forums. Just bought a 98 1.9 TDi SE. I have got the concert radio/cassete+cd changer.
Isn't the display on the instr. panel supposed to show station name etc??? mine doesn't. Is there a way to enable that function?

Default You mean RDS? It only works for certain channels that send the signal.

What does yours display, if anything?

No...RDS works fine...I can see the name of the station on the radio display but not the trip computer display (the one which is between the revcounter and speedometer)

Default push the button on the bottom of the windshield wiper stalk.

Maybe the display is turned off. Not sure on Euro models if the older trip comps had the radio status display in the instrument cluster.

Why...what do you call revcounters in the US?
And by the way...the trip computer works fine with all other functions...and I checked my manual and it is supposed to display station name.
I read somewhere about some configuration mode of the radio...
Any ideas?

Default Tachometer.

I have no explanation why the radio section of the display would not be working, considering all the rest of the display works.

So the top section doesn't display anything at all?

Default Re: Tachometer.

The top section works when I start the car (displaying OK) and when I press the left dash button and it displays all the icons for the different checks (eg washer fluid, fuel etc)
