Sometimes only the top portion works on my trip computer. Other times the whole thing is blank. I think when the car is cold it happens. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Should I get it serviced?

Sal,
There is an "on" "off" switch for the display. It's the button under the lever that controls the wippers and comp. funtions. Could you be inadvertantly hitting it? If not it is most likely an internal instrument cluster problem. The parts in the cluster are not sold seperatly. The cluster is sold as a rebuilt unit only that can be exchanged at an Audi dealer. If it's still under warranty take it in. I'm sure at retail it's big $$$.
