trouble starting the A4?
Has anyone experienced some trouble start the A4 1.8?
I have a 2000 1.8, about 9000 miles. One morning, the car won't start. The engine just crank. It took several tries before the engine started. The only reason I can think about was that I was low on fuel, between last mark and empty. Maybe air got into the fuel line? Appreciate any comments.

I had this problem when parked on a decline w/ slightly less than 1/4 tank.
I added 2 gallons and it cranked right up. It's generally not a good idea to let your fuel level get below 1/4 tank in any case.

Re: trouble starting the A4?
I've had this happen a few times. Even went to the dealer a couple of time becuase engine light went on after the hesitant starts. Both times dealers said it was a misfire in the spartk plugs. I'm not really convinced that was the whole problem. Still happened(hesitant starts not engine light) a few more times when I left the car sitting for about about a week. Before I thought maybe condensation in the gas lines or something of that nature, but still not sure. This subject has been in the forum a few times. Hopefully there's a solutions or answer.

Moisture in the fuel? Was it damp out or did it just rain beforehand?
With low fuel the percentage of water vs fuel is much higher, therefore will cuase the engine to misfire as it tries to burn watered down fuel. Also a low octane fuel will cuase this too, I run 93 Octane only.
