Default Troubleshoot dead Cruise Control

My Cruise Control doesn't work and wondering if anyone can tell me how to troubleshoot the Audi Cruise Control. From what I can tell, the Audi Cruise Control runs off either pressure or vacuume, unlike Japanese Cruise. This is a bit out of my knowledgebase. THANK YOU...

Default Mine does not engage when I hit the button on the stalk...

Apparently it is dirty contacts inside the stalk. I have read that some parts cleaner from Radio Shack, sprayed strategically, can help restore operation.

Are you seeing this behavior, or is yours engaging and not holding speed?

Default I followed these instructions as posted in the FAQ section with "mixed" results

Immediately after following the instructions, my CC worked again for a few days but now no longer works. I will have to try this again since the obvious problem is in the switch.

>>> CLICK FOR LINKED POST FROM FAQ IN CASE YOU MISSED IT<<<

Default Clean switch didn't fix problem, whats next?

Try cleaning the switch didn't correct the problem. Now I got my A4 as used and CC never worked. I also notices I don't need to clutch in to start the motor but can't tell if this is normal or just German car thing. Any other ideas??

Default Try a search for more CC info.

The lack of clutch to start the car seems to be "normal" on the older cars--it's like that on my '97 as well. Good luck

Andy
