Yes, I did a search and found nothing relevant.

So I have a 2001.5 A4 and since day 1 I have never seen any trunk lights go on. I finally got time to look around and at first I assumed a light was out. So I pulled the one behind the top lip, and the one behind the storage bin on the right, and both are fine. Then, it occurred to me that the car doesn't know the trunk is open. Sure enough, I noticed that if I open a side door, my information display shows me that... but if I only open the trunk, it doesn't show me anything other than my standard trip info. So I assume the trunk sensor is broken, stuck, or otherwise faulty. How would I go about troubleshooting this? Where is the sensor? How do I get to it?

I installed an amp and new speakers in my car, so I'm familiar with electronics and wiring (but the install had nothing to do with this current problem) and I'd rather fix (or at least investigate) this myself instead of having to go to the dealership.
