Tuning Shop/Reputable Repair Shop Recomendation?
Hey, I'm looking at buying a 01 a4 in Lancaster PA and I wanted to know if anyone knows of a reputable shop that could check out the car before I buy it. I currently live in CO but am from philly and will be traveling back east soon. However I would like to get the car checked out before I make it back. I would preferbly like to know of a euro-tuning shop because it does have some work on it which I want verified.
The car is listed as having "Bilsten struts, Borla catback, audi TT alternator, TT Turbo, upgrade ecu Chiped, and more."
I believe that the previous owner did most of the work on the car because he didn't know what the chip was... The car has 190,000 miles on the body but he said the engine was swapped out with a new on at 100,000. Normally I would not even bother with a car like this but the price is rather appealing and I could fix whatever minor issues the car has.
Oh he did mention that the MAF sensor is causing the check engine light to go off and has been since some of the work to the turbo was finished. It's reading too much air is blown through.. but he also said that he only runs the car on 5psi.. which is rather low.
Any thoughts, or recomendations on a shop would be fantastic!
thanks
Nolan

To me first thought is stay away. New engine, I always doubt unless you personally know him or he has a reciept from the dealer. Also he doesn't know much about his car and a upgraded chipped ECU doesn't run at 5psi a car in limp/safe mode does. Sounds like a can of worms to me.

Yeah, my thought was that the turbo line or something had to be leaking when he said 5psi and I asked him but he assured me that he keeps it down because it's a daily driver which he doesn't race and that 5 psi is "stock"... but I think that's more like 8-9psi with a k03.
