Default GENERALLY speaking, the apr......

its a smaller, ball-bearing Garrett GT-25 turbo, as opposed to the PES's larger T-28 turbo. obviously, there are alot of factors that determine spool up time, but in most cases, the apr will spool up quicker.

Default no, not really.......

the apr will spool up quicker, but power is totally dependent on application. in general, the T-28 being a larger turbo capable of higher boost, there is POTENTIAL for more power with the right tuning. out of the box, i believe both kits claim about 290 hp. it just depends on your preference.

Default Neither 'delivers more power'. Both will flow enough air within their efficiency range to make more

power, respectively, than either the PES or APR kits are 'tuned' to deliver. The T28, being larger, will deliver more air (and therefore has a higher max HP rating) at it's maximum than the GT-25. It spools a bit later in the rev band for the same reason .. it is larger and takes more exhaust flow to spool up.

Default another question..- is the t-28 a ball bearing turbo like the garret 25? if not, what will that

effect?

Default even another question - are the APR and PES hp figures conservative?

I have heard people say that the s3 kit on 103 gas pumps out 320hp. Another reason i ask is, why is the PES kit rated at 270hp when the APR kit is 280hp? Why isnt the t-28 tweeked a bit more to at least be put on the same power level as the s3 kit?

Default in that trim, with the tuning that those kits come with, the GT25 (turbo used in APR's kit) will

spool earlier

Default Diff in exhaust flow. The 'base' PES kit doesn't include a high flow cat and the APR kit does. If

you add a high flow cat to the PES kit you'll get more HP. The 270 was supposedly from a dyno run with the OEM cat. Dunno if adding a high flow cat would close the ~30 lb-ft of torque diff or if that is 'tuning' preferences between APR and GIAC.
