Turbo Whine/Whistle 99.5 A4 1.8T

I own a 99.5 A4 1.8T Automatic/Tiptronic. Does anyone know if the turbo whine/whistle for this car should be heard at low RPM or at high? I can't seem to hear it at low RPM.

You don't want to hear it

When you can hear it at all RPMS, that means the turbo is on its way out.

Hmm. Mine has been pretty loud for the last 60K miles.
