Default Turn signal issue

Happened on my way home. Before turning, I switched on the turn signal and stopped at a red trafic light. The turn signal stopped after blinking a few times. After dinner, I went back to the car, and find the turn signal and the emergency signal are both not working. I then tried to turn the turn signal lever somewhere half way. I find the signal comes on at a certain position of the lever. After several tries, both the turn and emergency signals come on work normally.

I know something is wrong. I guess its the turn signal switch. But would a faulty turn signal switch influence the emergency light?

If the problem is due to something common to both the turn signal and the emergency signal, what it would be? The emergency botton or the relay (I think the relay for turn signal and emergency signal are the same)?

Thanks

Default *sigh*

I feel like this is the millionth time someone has posted about this.

You need to replace your hazard switch.

Default Thanks. It's the hazard flasher switch.

I took it off, took it apart, and cleaned the sliding contact parts. Now everything is OK. Will order one to replace it.
