Default two different braided hose OD: shouldnt they be the same?

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/115403/hoseod.jpg"></center><p>
awm engine: the hose my finger is on with the larger OD runs from the passenger side of the intake manifold, around the front of the engine under the turbo coolant line, and then down into the void on the exhaust side. what hose is this and where does it go?

the hose i marked with a ring of black tape is smaller OD and runs back under the intake manifold.

also, shouldnt there be a clamp on the smaller OD hose?

Default i think they are just vacuume lines.

there should be a clamp at the end of all vacuume lines. if you want to find out where they run to, just try to follow them till the end. i think they both may run towards the back and under the intake manifold. use mirrors and flashlights. they are your friend. hope this helped.

Default how about a worded listing of all of the vac hoses? (besides the bentley diagram) something like

1. turbo outlet to intake manifold
2. intake manifold to BPV
etc.....

Default ET*KA diagram works well since it shows how everything's connected and lists the hose type + length

Nate was kind enough to provide me with one for the 30v :-)

does it refer to the vac hoses as "angled hose"?

Default Yeah, the part descriptions are pretty generic, but

the assembly diagram shows exactly how everything goes together, so it's easy to see which hose connects which parts. Also, the part descriptions give the exact length and thicknesses of the hoses, which is nice.

Until someone writes a detailed tech article on the subject, I think it's the closest thing you'll find to 'A4 Vacuum Hoses for Dummies' ;-)
