Default Two post lift brands.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a two post lift for hobby use? I have a tall garage and have been watching for Rotary and Bend-Pak lifts for sale in my area. What other brands are considered good? I see Mohawk, Eagle, and BenWil sometimes, are they decent or am I asking to be crushed to death by my A4? I am looking for a used one, I'll probably use it once a week, so I'm not going to drop $4000 for new.

Default Find out who the local equipment company is in your area.

Viking Equipment in CT installed a two post Challenger in my "shop" for $1000.

Default Given the potential penalty for failure, it's crazy to buy a used lift.

And this is coming from someone who owns several lifts. When I have one installed at home, it's definitely going to be new and installed by someone from an manufacturer who is certified to do so. I've seen cars come down off of lifts and you have zero reaction time. I'd hate to see you get hurt.

Cheers,

Same logic.
All lifts are "used" the second they are put into production. Like a used car, a well maintined lift will last for many years. Unlike a car, lifts are made with tons of safety features and are designed to last for decades. My used lift was completely recabled before it was installed. I trust it completely.

Default I thought about a tire machine, but they are huge money. Unless...

you are planning on opening a shop, it would take a lifetime to recoup your investment.

On the lift, I agree with Ritz that a professional install is the way to go.
