Nice writeup, but I need some data... We want numbers! Can this thing really floss on FMIC levels?

Default on a longitudnal 1.8T

I was told how the Forge SMIC tested well with the transverse engine but didn't do nearly as well with the longitudnal.

Default Does anyone provide numbers for the popular FMICs?

It seems that blind faith is fine as long as it is a front mount, but say side mount and everyone is skeptical. I could probably move it in front of the radiator if that'd help

Default it's an expensive side mount

the pricier it is, the more skepticism it will generate. But you have a good point nonetheless.

Default Good point. FMIC's have more documentation about their effectiveness when compared to side mounts.

I am crossing my fingers that this works as well, if not better than the competeing front mounts out there. I think it is a better option. At least you didn't notice any pressure drop, and throttle response seemed the same. Those are two plusses right there that can't be said for FMICs. I would also like to see if it is actually more effecient as an intercooler than the competing FMICs. I guess if it is an improvement over stock at all it would be worth it.

Default the surface area

vs a fmic just doesn't even come close.

i'm skeptical. but who knows what testing will show. personally im leaning towards the spp/racetec core.
