hook it up to front tow hook, pull start car by popping clutch, and drive home to diagnose.
It's either going to be the starter motor or the ignition switch. The '96 has had several recalls to redo the ignition switches.
There's no way to test the starter unless you jack the car up... so do as I said above or get it flatbedded home... or put the jack on a 3/4" piece of plywood and jack the car up and do some poking around. pick your poison.
