Default Update!! Car won't start 1.8t w/63000 and the timing belt has not being replaced......

Well I tried to figure this one out but I am at a loss I am having the thing towed to Harper Audi (Knoxville) tommorow; I want to say thank you to all the AW's that helped me. Like most of you love my car but this crap stinks having to rent a tow truck to take the thing 80 miles and then not knowing what is wrong geesh!! (/rant)

I will let you guys know what it was hopefully some thing cheap (LOL)

Default did it smell like gas after you tried to start it?

My coolant sensor went a little while ago and caused my car not to start. It messes with the air/fuel mix and made it way to rich, my car reeked of gas after I tried to start it a couple times

Default All I did was move it 20 feet up the drive turned it off 5 mins later tried to start it and it ...

wouldn't fire, I checked the timing belt but I am not sure what to look for it seemed tight and didn't look to have any damage.

If I was to guess I would say it is either spark or fuel as the engine sounds like normal but just won't fire.

Default $225 for the pump and a few hours of work. It is not too hard. It is easy to determine....

the pump was bad: loosen the fuel rail and start the car, if no fuel leaking out of the fuel rail then you have a bad pump.
