I brought my car back to the dealer today and they fixed my problem. It is exactly what I told them it would be...the top nut on the strut probably came loose and was rattling around.
They offered to remove the control arms at their cost and charge me for tightening the nut. Instead, I choose to keep the control arms on and got a credit of $220 in labor. So, isntead of a $600 control arm job, I paid $380. Still a lot of bread, but I'm content with the way it ended up. My service advisor is pretty cool (he just sold his APR S3 99.5 a4)

I also need to trouble shoot this weekend and figure out what is really behind the manifold leak, and muddy steering/clunks.
I think it's a swaybar link, tre, or control arm. I need to get under and check for any loose bolts or play.
Next up is the C/O suspension. I'm not sure what to pull the trigger on. I was thinking Koni or Vogtland. Suggestions?
Cheers,
Joel

I might consider though, thanks. With all the parts I need, the price might really start to look good.

will own on the track if you plan on tracking...Konis are quite a bit softer and are excellent for daily driving and not making apperences at the track. Vogtland is a great choice...awesome on the track and solid for every day driving.
