Default Update on my Hit and run situation. Someone with EKTA please tell me if I got ripped

Ok ... i got a check for $850 and the insurance company says its gonne be $1350. $500 deductible. I went to the body shop they recommended and that does all the European cars, Vipers, porches, etc etc .... good body shop .. they do a great job. They said labor and work alone is goign to cost $1600 then add on parts.
i bought the parts already today:
Rear left Quarter panel: $212
Tail light: $120

Good thing is progressive is good with this body shop and work very closy with them .. so if they need supplimentals .. they usually give em ...
I have made a decision and will pay up the 5 Benjamins and get it done right ya know.

I'll keep u guys updated.

Oh yeah .. i have renters as well so I get a luxary rental for a week and a half up to $40 .. any suggestions ? :-)

Default Rental car tips...

I worked as a rental car agent at Hertz for a while about 7 years ago. $40/day won't get you squat (unless progressive has a special arrangement with the rental car place you choose). Your best bet is to kiss the *** of the person renting you the car. I don't mean just, "Nice day, isn't it?" I mean some serious *** kissing. If they don't give you a free upgrade to the best on the lot, slip them $20. Then they'll give you anything.

One time an older guy came in with a reservation for a full size car. I had put a Taurus with his contract. But, when he came in, he was really cool...making jokes, being very friendly, etc. So I said, "Jeez, it's nice to get a polite customer in here for a change. Would you like that Town Car as a free upgrade?" He was excited since his daily driver was an older Town Car. I tossed the keys to a co-worker to pull it around. Just as the guy was leaving, he handed me and my co-worker each a $100 bill and thanked us for the nice car!

Not that you want a Town Car, but brighten the rental agent's day and they'll offer you the best car on the lot. At the time Hertz was renting Volvo 850 Turbo's. They may have S60's now!

Just for some info, all bodyshops that give a supplement to the insurance company after the original estimate will always be added to the tab of your insurance if it was the result of the accident. And also, if your insurance company tells you to go to a specific body shop, somebody is getting paid. Don't let them push you around. Just because you go to the shop of your choice, does not mean that your insurance will not cover the supplement. All supplements must be covered if it is from the accidnet. They cannot deny you that. I work for a bodyshop, and just wanted to comment.
