Finally got it to work.. Started from scratch and the problem was, that when I connected #5 wire to #8 wire on the connector, it was the same ground for both doors. Not sure if this is only on newer cars that they are the same, but because of this, I was grounding each window out, so that is why it did not work as planned. However, there is another ground wire that is in the connector! On the left window, I connected #5 to #8, but on the second window, I connected to #5 wire to the larger red wire with the black stripe (not sure what number). Now after programming the windows again, they work one touch down *AND* one touch up.

all you have to do is push and hold the button (from either driver door or door that you did the modification on) to open the window all the way up/down a couple times. So if the windows are up, hold the button until it is down all the way, then hold until up all the way, it may take more than one time I'm not sure. I did it twice each way on each window.

-The pinch protection is still there on all 4 windows after this process
-Holding the key to unlock in the door still opens all windows
-Holding the key to lock still closes them all
-This has been a tested modification on both my 2001 1.8t and my friend's 1998 2.8
