Default ive heard of them. not too popular in the US. I think they are from Austria or something.

im sure that they make a decent product, and 300 seems really reasonable. But I would stick with APR or GIAC or Abt, or one of the big names if I were you just because of customer support and service if you have a problem or need to correct something.

Default Do a search!

:-) I think you'll find plenty of info in the archives. I think you'll find that GIAC and APR are the most popular chips these days. Before their time, Upsolute was probably more prominent....but they're basically off the map now. Are the compatible? You mean comparable? I don't know, but from the numbers I saw posted in that GB, the torque is way low. For reference, my MTM Stage I chip is putting out 240 tq / ~190 hp.

Default I don't have any experience with them, but many VW owners use it

Check www.vwvortex.com, a lot of VW 1.8t owners use this chip.

Default Updated website, and new distributor info

Thanks for the feed back. I just got a 2000 1.8T, and very noobish to this whole genre. Looking on upsolute.com, it seems they claim it could up the hp to 192 and the torque to 200. But obviously, it the price that sways me, and the distance, they have a guy in NJ.
