Default Used A4 1.8T Reliability...Please Help

I am in the midle of purchasing a bone stock 2000 A4 1.8T, with around 90,000km for $22,000 (CDN dollars). I have heard A LOT of different things about the car...some recomend it, some dont, some say it will give me problems, some say I couldn't have chosen a better car. Frankly, I'm confused. If anyone can help clear my head, and tell me if I'm making a smart puchase, or recomend the 2.8 or something, this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Default Seems like a very good price, Check the records and see if the timing belt has been changed.

If it hasn't you should do it ASAP. Other than that good luck!!!

Default Stay away from the A4

It is "below average in reliability" Consumer Reports.
My experience was. It would have cost me $4000.00 US Dollars if it did not have the generous warrenty. Totally unacceptable for a new car. I would not expect it to be trouble free. And the parts are just plain expensive not to mention most dealers don't stock big ticket items they need to be shipped from a warehouse.
