Default v&s shifter and new socket linkage/ lock washer- install impressions

I just finished installing the v&s shifter and I ran into a couple issues, nothing major though. When I tried to get the 6mm selector rod bolt throught the rectangular washer and onto the shifter I had problems getting this bolt started. I had to stuff some napkins under the shifter, to allow a flush surface to the selector rod, and lift the shifter enough so I could feed the 6mm bolt on straight. The other issue I had was getting the bolts torqued to spec, since I used/needed wobble extensions. I guess the torque wrench doesn't work correctly with wobble extensions, as my wrench didn't click, even though I was tightening to the point of almost stripping the bolt. These were not issues related to v&s, but with the install.
-------------------------------------------------
For some time I had been getting a lot of 'slop' with my shifter, I even designed a way to tighten the ball/socket with industrial wire, but I was never fully satisfied because the wire needed constant re-tightening. I decided to purchase a brand new socket/ball housing, part # 8D0-711-334, from my local audi dealer for $94.85. I also bought a new lock washer for the socket, part # 893-711-511-A, for $1.44. I installed these parts today with the shifter and have absolutely NO SLOP! I used to get a lot of wobble from left to right and front to back on my shifter, which appears to be gone. btw, zip-tie mod would not work on my car due to the year. After I finished the install I shifted into 1st and 2nd, and it was very tight in the ball/socket area, which I don't mind. The oversized v&s ball with a brand new socket must be the reason. I havn't gotten a chance to drive with the shifter yet, but it feels a lot more fluid, nice going into reverse without pushing down. I will post impressions after I drive with it tommorow, after the loc-tite cures. I had v&s make the shifter the same height as Neuspeed's shifter (-1.25" from stock height).
