I just got off the phone with V1 and bit the bullet. Should have my new detector in 4 days but the rep pointed out that they have had serious problems with the A8's windshield reducing radar distance by 95% due to a metallic tint. Does the A4 have the same windshield as the A8? Also, I have tinted my windows but I do not know if the tint is metallic. Has anyone with metallic tint noticed an effect on the V1?

A4 does not have same metalic tint as A8. No problems.

Don't notice any difference in sensitivity with the "normal" audi windshield. I just got the whole care tinted.....I have noticed no difference in the radar.....<br>I did read an article a while back that said that the tint can block 95% of laser. This will only affect the rear sensor....the front sensor is clear of all tinting.<br>The V1 is great...I was a Escort user for years, the V1 is far superior than anything that is out today. The direction arrows are addicting!<br>You will love your V1! It has saved me countless $$$.
