Alright, need your help here guys... I just recieved my VAG cable I bought from ebay. I figured, why not, I have $50 sitting in my paypal, I'll try it out. Well it's working fine, and I plan on buying a ross-tech soon. Anyway, I got it working with the free version of Vag-Com. Plugged it in, scanned, and it came up with the ABS fault code. I'm thinking to myself--how can that be? I don't have a blinking abs light, no CEL, nothing. No warning, car's acting fine. Here's the fault code:
VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-US
Address 03: ABS Brakes
Controller: 8E0 614 111 A
Component: ABS/EDS 5.3 QUATTRO D10
Coding: 0273004284
Shop #: BB 24334
1 Fault Found:
01203 - Electrical Connection between ABS and Instrument Cluster
31-00 - Open or Short to Ground
Short to ground... I know the No Signal - Intermittent fault usually means failing ABS unit. Is this basically the same thing? Anyone have any suggestions? I did have my brakes replaced about 6 months ago, but havn't had any problems. Arrg.. I hope it's not another failing unit. Thanks guys. EDIT: Forgot to mention when VAG is scanning it, it beeps and the ABS light comes on, but goes off within seconds after it finishes.

with all codes i would copy them, clear them, and see if they come back. if so then worry about them, if they dont come back you are good to go
