Default VAG'd the car...need help!

Well here is the story fellas...I picked up a 99.5 A4 Automatic FWD (yes a sucky combination), but the deal was right.

I test drove the car, and it ran fine, idled perfectly, turbo spooled great, transmission shifted even better.

To make a long story short, the lady had trouble getting the title, so the car sat for 2+ months at her old apartment complex.

When I went to pick up the car 10 weeks later, I jumped it, it idle fine, but when I put the car in drive, the A4 would lag. I would give it gas and it will seem to not go. It almost seemed like the transmission was not engaging properly.

Well, shortly down the road, I heard almost like a turbo diesel noise, so I stopped, popped the hood open, and to my surprise the turbo was glowing red hot.

The car would start up, but it sounded like a turbo diesel or if exhaust valves where clanging.

Could the shifting problem be caused by a clogged cat, as well as the turbo glowing red, and the exhaust valves clanging (from back pressure)?

Here are the codes:

Need some serious help please! Anything will help! I am stumped!

Just cleared all the codes, the car would not idle, but the engine sounds smooth (no valves clanging), I gave it just a little gas to keep the car running for about a minute. The turbo & cat or super hot to the touch.

It still threw this code:

Sounds like you might need to do a "throttle body adaptation " thru vagcom.

Bothe the engine and transmissions loose their setup when the battery is dead. I can take a few miles to smooth out.

Did a TBA and the car seemed to idle fine for the most part. The RPMs would jump up and down very slightly.

You can physically see the turbo and exhaust get hot and I checked the tail pipe to see if there was anything flowing through the back. When at idle, it seemed fine. When giving it a bit of gas, there was an almost complete stop of flow through the end.

Clogged cat? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Look underneathe the car, if the cat is glowing red then it is clogged.
Also, if you can unbolt the muffler and see if maybe it is clogged up.
It sat for over two months, maybe something got stuck in there.

Like a small animal that thought it found a warm place to make its nest. Toast.
Did you ever resolve this?
