Default VAGed it again.. Still have a problem

Yesterday I hooked the VAG-COM to my car again and noticed that when it begins to stutter, cylinder 1 is misfiring. I switched cylinder 1 coil pack with cylinder 4 coil pack, did another run but cylinder 1 is still misfiring. The car was having this problem before I rebuilt the engine, therefore it seems that this must be a sensor or injector problem.

The last thing I'm going to do is change cylinder 1's injector with cylinder 4 injector to see if it still misfired on one.. After that I'm out of ideas. I had Evolution MS change out the chip, tried a new ECU, changed my MAF sensor, Changed the O2 sensors, switched the coil packs.
Anymore ideas?

Default Ignition amplifier.

Most likely, this is your problem (assuming you have a pre-'99.5). I would try 4 new sparkplugs though, just to be sure you've ruled everything out. Just get some regular Densos from your local AutoZone...$1.60 each. If it's not spark plugs, it's the ignition amplifier (AKA power output stage)....it lists for $280 at the stealer. Apparently you can get the one for the Passat much cheaper. Good luck

Default Re: Ignition amplifier.

I've changed my plugs already, maybe I could try one of my friend's ignition amplifier. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks!
