My friend gave me his Valentine One (he's a great friend!!!) and I need to know what parts are required to get the unit hard-wired into my A4. I am assuming I need the "Direct-Wire Power Adapter Kit" from the V1 site. But do I need the "Wiring Harness Connector" too?

Those parts came with my unit when I bought it. If I remember correctly, the wiring harness connector simply splices into another wire as a power source, and then a wire from the direct wire power adapter kit plugs into the connector.
After reading other people's results, I didn't use the wiring harness connector. The wire from the direct power adapter has a spade connector on the end which is surrounded by a plastic boot. I cut the boot off, and then the spade connector fit very nicely into one of the slots in the fuse panel.
This may be in the FAQ. Take a look. Also search the archives. If you come up empty, you can drop me an email and I'll help if I can.
