Just got back from a 600 mile weekend road trip with my Valentine1. The drive took under 4 hours each way (300 miles) at an average speed of about 80 mph for a trip that's about half interstate, half state highways. I held a pretty constant speed the entire trip, which meant I was traveling at anywhere from 10 mph over the posted limit, to as much as 25 mph over, not super fast, but certainly enough to justify a ticket if caught.
Thankfully, my trusty Valentine1 performed flawlessly, and allowed me to avoid potentially unpleasant encounters with the state patrol on a total of three occasions for this trip alone. The more I use my Valentine1, the more I appreciate it. I find the combination of the bogey counter, directional arrows, signal strength meter, radar identifier, and distinctive audio alerts to be indispensable to avoiding traffic radar/speeding tickets. It's such a fine piece of engineering and quality workmanship: well made, user friendly, extremely sensitive, and easy to understand/use. I never cease to marvel at how much information the unit is able to convey at a glance, and at how the unit's display and audio alerts are able to convey so much detailed information in such a straight forward and easy to interpret manner.
Just had to report back for those who may be on the fence regarding the purchase of a $400 radar detector, the Valentine1 is worth every cent and more. Accept no substitutes and don't leave home without it! Count me once again as an EXTREMELY satisfied Valentine1 customer. (Please note that other than being a satisfied Valentine1 customer, I am not affiliated with them in any way, shape, or form. Also note that I do not advocate driving faster than is appropriate for prevailing driving conditions nor do I advocate driving in a reckless, irresponsible, or unsafe manner.)

My thoughts exactly. V1 is the only radar/laser detector: period. I have friends that spent $300+ on their detectors, but they have had problems and have speeding tickets.
What is not to love about the V1. The price?! I think not. A ticket for 15-20 over is huge not to mention the insurance implications. Now that I have it hard wired to the car and mounted to the left of the rearview mirror, it's even better. you get much more acquainted to the signals and sounds to make you better prepared for John Q Law with it right there next to you at eye level.
Best $400 investment you can ever make if you are a...law bender![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
