Know this is a dumb question, but figured I'd better ask before I break something. How do you replace the bulb in a VDO boost gauge? Looks like it should pull out from the rear of the gauge, but I've already done so with some force and no luck. Don't see any retainer clips or anything else which might be holding it in (the housing turns in either direction quite easily). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

i took a small screwdriver that you use for glasses, and wedged it in between the backside of the gauge and plastic bulb holder. It is held in there with 4 clips, so all you need to do is depress one of them and pull out

I had to use pliers to take the socket out.

Yup, just grab the plastic bulb base with some pliers.
