Hi All,
I have a 1999 Audi A4 97k miles. I have a strange problem now. The car starts vibrating (the whole car) and then the check engine lick starts flashing.
I took it to a mechanic, he said the code was P0302(engine 2 misfire) and that i needed a spark plug replacement and coil change. I got them done as per the mechanics advice. The issue was fixed.
But yesterday evening it happened again! I am really disappointed to have spent money fixing the issue, to only see it's back within 200miles of driving.
Anyone has any suggestions what could be the issue? Please help

This is most commonly caused by bad coils (like the shop said) There are 4 coils (1 over each cylinder) if one goes bad the others will likely follow. I would change the other 3 coils if you can. Buy them on your own and install them yourself. Its really simple to change them. Saves a lot of money to DIY.

Same deal happened to me on my 98 2.8 30v but my issue was gas related.
the guy at the pump used regular/cheap gas. .and by the time I saw what happened it was too late! 3/4 of my tank was full of regular. And the remaining 1/4 was premium! Looking back I should have used octane booster to get it back to par.
Starting the car causes misfires and it involves some shaking. ..but it eventually worked itself out.
Where you getting your gasoline from and what grade?

1.8T? Ignition control module/power output stage. Check the codes to see if it's the same cylinder that's misfiring as the one that had the coil replaced (probably #2). Get the Huco replacement.
