dullest tool in the shed

I just got mine from the dealer for my '00 on order. Wondered if there is some way to tell when it was built, specific details about the car, etc...What does all that stuff mean?

the vin doesnt give any info you do not already know. this could apply to any car..
1st digit - nation of origin (w, germany)
2/3 - make (audi)
4 - series (a4 turbo)
5 - engine type
6 - restraint system
7/8 - model
9 - check digit (only manuf knows correct chk digit, this is to verify vin is not forged)
10 - model year (prob y for my '00)
11 - assembly plant
12 to 17 - sequential production number
