Default w00t, rear deck rattle gone

So finally I got tired of my rear deck rattle and said forget this. All I really needed to do was pull the caps off the bolts that secure the rear deck, and just crank them down a little harder. Two days later, still no rattles, big difference in ride enjoyment and sound quality.

Now no more obnoxious rattle when my sub hits hard, or I'm idling at a stop light. I got a tad more vibration in the cabin when I idle after installing my snub mount... enough to set my rear deck into a frenzy.

So for you guys with rear deck rattles, just try tightening down those bolts... another good, hard tightening on the center bolt did it for me. Just thought I'd share. =)

pull the clip-covers off and you'll see bolts. they're either 13mm or 14mm

Default later MY is a little different. IIRC they have two bolts for the child seat anchors plus the clips.

For my 98.5 it have 3 plastic clips and two plastic c-clamps to hold the rear deck in place.

I have replaced the 3 plastic clips with metal bolts and bolted the rear deck down.

It has been a year and the rattle has yet to return.

*knock on wood*

Default Ahh. I see everyone complaining about the rattle

Didn't know it was (probably) tied to those crappy clips. =P

Default bolts and then use hex nuts and bolt the rear deck to the body.

Just make sure you have the right size of nuts, bolts a long neck socket to tighten the nuts, and a lot of patience and time.

It took me an hour to mount the three hex nut onto the bolts.
