Default Want to chip garret wtih tiptronic, any driveability issues?

I have a 1.8t with tiptronic and wanted to chip with GIAC for my 99, and was wondering if any of you guys on this forum have had any driveability issues with his 1 bar chip. I'm looking to get it at Dynospot in Mountain View California, any comments would be appreciated.

I've had the giac chip stage 1 on my 1.8t tip for 15k now. No driveability issues and I love it, but I do wonder about getting the tip chip though. Don't get me wrong, the chip works incredibly well, but I wonder how much better it could be with the tip chip.

Default I've ridden in Prashant's APR chipped with Garret Tip chip...

it's a nice ride. The tip chip is great. The shifts are very quick and very smooth. Power is great with the APR chip, I'm sure the same for the Garret 1 bar chip.

The tip chip deals only with the transmission, nothing with the turbo. It'll shift at higher rpms and will shift quicker and smoother, supposedly more like a manual, if you're any good. If you want more info, check out giac's website at www.giacusa.com.

Default I have both GIAC chips and love them

I put in the Tip chip at about 10K miles and it was great. Then I switched out my Wett chip at 15K for a GIAC chip. So far, everything is fantastic and I love them both. Currently have 32K miles on the clock. No driveability issue at all.

Even my service mgr. has said how smooth the shifts are, and loves the power of the ECU chip. He wants to offer this service but is afraid AoA won't back him up should something fail. Oh well... email me for more info if you wnat to.

What about for a 2001 though? Are the chips "mature" enough yet?
