Want to know if anyone has installed an additional amp in their symphony bose system to power
a separate sub. I know I need to tap one of my rear speakers to do it, I'm just wondering if it will cause any problems to the existing amp. I don't think it will, but I would like to know if any one has done it and what their experience was like. Thanks

That's why I wanted to go with a kicker solobaric...12" sub won't take alot of room and can get
creative on where to mount it. The output from the sub should be enough in terms of the sound I'm looking for. Don't want to kill all the room in my trunk.

i have installed a my amp, and a sub into my stock bose system. all that you need is a high to low converter if you are keeping your stock head unit. and no it does not cause any problems to the existing stock amp. everything sounds perfect.

I built both a 2.25' open box and 1' closed box and the difference was there but not very big...
I'm going with another closed box for the Audi. My last car, a Sunfire also had an "insulated" rear seat and it was loud enough.

I'm not sure you need the converter...

Done this on a couple of S3's with Bose
Added Alpine MRV-T505 amp and JL stealth sub replacing Audi/Bose tupperware sub.
Do you have a Bose sub in the A4?
If so, it's easy as you can unplug it and tap into the connections. If not then you need to tap into the Bose amp connections.
It won't damage the amp as long as you get the wiring right.
All you need are 4 connections, left sig, right sig, screen & remote on.
You'll obviously need to run power from the battery for the amp.
