Warming up

Most people tell me to let my Audi warm up for 5-10 minutes when it's subzero temperatures out, but a recent dissenting voice has said anything more than a minute will ruin the engine. What do you all think?

Anything more than a minute is a total waste. When the engine idles at low rpms, there isn't enough oil pressure to properly circulate cold/thick oil, hence some parts are running poorly lubricated causing lots of wear. Don't do it. Just drive easy until the car warms up.

Idling the engine for 30 seconds to a minute (if it's really cold), will ensure that oil has gotten to all critical points in the engine - assuming that the proper weight oil is being used.
Idling the engine for prolonged time will wear the camshafts. The catalytic converters will also not work properly until the engine is hot, and the idling engine runs dirty.
Idling an engine to warm it up will take a few times longer than driving it until warm.
