A couple of months ago I began having washer fluid leak from my resovior. I took it to my local mechanic who stated my washer pump was shot. He ordered the replacement part but it was the headlight pump instead. After two or three mis-orders I decided to order the part myself through the local Audi dealer. When the part came in I brought the busted pump into the store with me. The parts manager immediately stated that the pump I had was the headlight pump and switched the part out for me. Fine. I brought the part to my mechanic and he again stated it was the wrong one. The part I need is cylindrical without any leads coming off the body and simply plugs in the electrical side and slided in the bottom of the resovior. The bad replacement part has two leads that come off the body and thus would not fit.
Any ideas? thanks!!

I had a leak in my windshield washer too... I thought it was the pump, but it ended up being a crack in the hose.
I had ordered both the headlight washer pump and the windshield washer pump from ECS. (it wasn't worth my time to take it apart, figure out what was broken, put it back together, order the parts, wait for the pump, take it apart, and replace the broken pump)
I replaced the hard plastic hose with some silicone vacuum hose I had lying around, and changed the pumps even though the stock ones looked in good condition.
Before changing the pumps, my sprayers would spray too high. Almost over the windshield. After the ECS pump, it sprayed in the middle of the windshiled. perfect. ha ha ha
