Was watching WRC, it's awesome! How come Audi doesn't have a car?

Audi's already involved in a lot of other racing formats.
I assume they dropped rally because it was getting too expensive for the publicity they got from it. I think it would be wise to put something back in. Even the RS4 could probably do it (although I'm not sure about the regulations).

Audi pulled the plug on rallying in '86 after Henri Toivonen lost his life in his S4...(more)...
Lancia that is, at Corsica. Earlier that year, at the rally of Portugal, a car left the course
killing and injuring many spectators. All works teams withdrew from that rally. With the specators being more and more unmanagable and with Henri and co-driver Sergio Cresto's deaths, FIA cancelled Group B and Group S for '87. Audi withdrew right then and there. The Audi works team continued to do hill climbs, all other rally events were from private teams. As to why they haven't come back into WRC racing, there are many opinions... they did want to focus on road & circuit racing. WRC is a lot harder to jump into nowadays and Audi really doesn't have a chance against the likes of the Subaru, Mitsu, and Peuguot works teams. Really, the only car that could be involved is the S3, but that would not be a WRC class car, more like a group N car.
Here's to you Henri and Sergio R.I.P...

Yes that was a sad day when we lost Henri. I'm sure he would've been a multi time world champion.
I was also sorry to see Audi leave the rally scene. 1986 truely was a bad year for rallying. First the fatalities in Potugal & then Henri & his codriver Sergio Cresto losing their lives at Corsica. That was the last straw for group B. Once you've heard a sport quattro at full chat you'll never forget that wonderful sound. I guess Audi decided that group A just wasn't worth the trouble. If they ever decide to get back in I'm sure they'd be competitive.
RIP Henri & Sergio<ul><li><a href="http://www.thruxton.f9.co.uk/toivonen.htm">http://www.thruxton.f9.co.uk/toivonen.htm</a</li></ul>
