water leak drivers side footwell.
i have a 97 1.8tqm, and water has been leaking into my footwell, through the area right by the hood release/vag port. just wondering if anyone has had any ideas on where to look, ive had the dash down, but cant find any trail of water to follow..thanks in advance -John

Re: check the drain line that is under the car right at that spot for the a/c's evap. clean it out.
can you please further go into detail about this? i have a similar problem and can't find the spot you are talking about.

open the hood and make sure there is no standing water around
where the hood release wire goes into the engine bay... leaves and such build up under the ECU and the water doesn't drain as well, allowing it to pool around the grommet to teh hood release and leak down. If you wanna get ****, clean it out and put silicone around the grommet to seal it up more.

the grommet where the hood release goes through the firewall is a common source of leaks...
it's just outboard of the ecu box. it's also common for aftermarket audio installers to rout wire through here distroying the seal
