Yeah yeah, and I *am* on a diet. ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
But seriously, the A4 is a pretty heavy car at 3300 pounds. (I have an Avant Quattro.) Does anyone know of any good ways to get rid of some decent weight without messing anything up, or seriously compromising the comfort of the car?
I know the major ways to accomplish serious weight reduction, but they make the car less *nice* as a daily driver, and more dedicated to the track. Things like getting rid of the back seats, pulling the carpet and the padding underneath it. Gutting the doors and getting rid of power-anything. (windows, seats, etc.) But all this stuff obviously makes the car less comfortable, less useable, louder, etc..
I'm after things which reduce weight but still maintain the daily usability of the car. For example, this was not intentional, but I found out the Borla exhaust I had installed was noticeably lighter than the stock exhaust. I only know this because I was at the shop watching them do the install, and I lifted up the stock exhaust and then the Borla while they were both sitting on the ground, and noticed there was probably a good 20 or 30 pounds less in the Borla. (I *think*... it's been a while, so my mind might be exaggerating the difference.) That's not too shabby. Little reductions like that start to add up.
But anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any definitely heavy parts of the A4 that can definitely be lightened. What is it that makes these cars so heavy?![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

you may want to look into getting aftermarket racing rims. There is a lot of weight there that can be freed up. Will help the looks of your ride as well.
