I put my subwoofer back in my car today--it's 2 JL 12W6's in a sealed enclosure. In the past, I've had problems with a rattling sound from the rear when the sub is running. I had always assumed (from personal experience and from others on this forum) that the source of the rattle was the rear deck. I was planning on reinforcing that deck with sound dampening material.
Today, I decided to check around the back of the car to see if I could find the actual source of that rattle (bolts, connectors, etc.) and I managed to locate my problem--THE LICENSE PLATE!!
It rattles like crazy, and when I push down on it to stabilize it, all the rattles stop.
Now, I'm thinking that some 3M foam tape placed between layers (car--plate, plate--frame) will solve my problem. Anybody else have any suggestions or experienced this problem and have a solution? Thanks in advance.

there is also a nice little angle sensing switch that turns your trunk light on and off. Its actually a ball bearing in a case with a couple of electrodes that it shorts out. Well that little ball shakes all over the place in that case. So thats the only noise that my sub makes, my plate is glued to my car with noise deadening foam spray.
