Default Well the Cop let me go I guess......

I was pulled over for speeding today. He told me he could nail me with all sorts of ****. I dont think he even radared me???? He was around a 1/4-1/2 mile behind be on a bike driving.

What he said he could give me...
-Speeding 70 in a 40.
-Improper lane change
-Excessive acceleration
-Aggressive Driving
All I did was pass a truck on a normal road (2 lane each way) and speed up. I WAS NOT even driving aggressive. I made a normal pass, grrrrrr. Anyway, I wasn't even doing 70. He came back to me and said he was going to cut me a HUGE break. Only a 64 in a 40 was the ticket I got. Still a $112 dollar fine and 4 points. I dont care about the money thats not to worry about its the damn insurance and points on the licence. My insurance just went down $100 a month 2 months ago. I would have asked for the radar to see how fast but I figured he might be a dick about it and then write a ticket for all the other stiff and just omit the speeding if he really didn't have me on radar.

Oh well, no biggy, not going to let it bring me down. Happy driving.... Good thing they didnt get me last week. I was doing a buck 20 down the highway with a BMW. I kept up though... Fun.
-Oh yeah, 15% tint, no front plate and broke windshield (getting a new one today)- not a word was said about those.... bastages. I suppose he could have nailed me and been a dick about it. Lucky me.

Excessive acceleration? wtf? I consider that no squealing tires = OK. Quattro is always OK

Default depending on the state cops don't have to use radar, the cops

estimate of approximate speed is enough if the cop is certified to do so. That and he could reference his vehicles speed to determine yours.

Default yeah , but I was too far ahead of him and I just turn in the street..

He also said he had me on some speacial radar. Probably said it to scare me. Like Pinpoint LasRadar blah blah blah.

Default I've developed a theory about cops...

Everytime I get pulled over the cop will say hey, I could give you a much worse ticket but "Im cutting you a break". I think they always want people thinking they got lucky so it lessens the chance people will leave upset and decide to contest the ticket in court.

Default Showing you radar readout

FYI a cop does not have to show you the radar readout. Most will not. It is a safety issue for you and him being out of your car. I've found out the hard way. Cop and judge informed me as to the law.

Bored at work just cruising the A4 site.

Default radar units in NH don't even lock the reading...

so you can't check.

Default Excessive acceleration

Most cops use excessive accellerations when people speed up to get through a yellow light. I have never heard of a cop giving it outside of that realm, but I guess its for real.
