Default Yeah, i understand that.

And i can totally understand that if you were telling a n00b about BOV's and i would probably back you 100%.

But in this situation, we are aware that RallyVermont is already well aware of the consequences of a BOV.

Default Oh def :-) I mentioned that in this thread. Maybe my comments will help a n00b that reads this....

But that assumes n00bs actually STFA. ;-)

Default :) He's not wrong. I agree with him at many levels in what he says. Our 18t's don't work well with

BOV's. With proper tuning it will work fine. But you HAVE to have tuning which compensates for the vented air. I even tried a hybrid. On the newer car's you can get away with it ('02 and up). But the older cars are a lot more sensitive with that stuff.

Default Seriously, we understand the logic behind the BOV / BPV debate...

we understand that the system was designed for a bpv...

however, I have used the forge bov and it tended to hold more boost than the 007 bpv...

I have also discussed it @ lenght with an audi tech who says that while the theory behind the running rich makes sense, it doesn't really mean crap...

bottom line: it doesn't matter and won't damage your engine...

make fun of him for wanting the sound, but the debate about the BPV / BOV needs to end...

Default There is no debate. It makes the car run rich. You actually put stock in what an Audi tech says?

LOL!!

If it's holding more boost on your car, that's for another reason.. like maybe the spring was weaker on the 007 diverter. If you actually think that venting to atmopshere under vaccuum vs recirculating that air is what makes your car hold boost more boost, you prove that you actually have no idea what you're talking about.

So I think you DON'T understand.
