Default Well, it's over ..............

my warranty.

After karting at Arnold's on saturday, I drove my last loaner ('02 3.0QTip Avant) to pick up my 2001.5 1.8TQMS with 49,979 miles on it from its 50k service. I proceeded to pass the 50k mark on our way to my brother/sister inlaw's place for the rest of the weekend, namely to watch the playoff games.

I glanced at the computer while the advisor had my service records up when I was questioning why my A4 is *not* part of any coilpack recall and saw that my A4 was at the dealer 19 times for 29 days. Do dealers share records or was this my visits to this dealer only? I'll have to look over my printouts tonight. If this is just at "my" dealer, then this car has been in the shop often over the last 2 years, 6 months and 5 days.

1 week old to me:

Here's to another 50k miles!

Default well, 19 times for 30 months is still 2 out of every 3 months at the dealer for 1-2 days.

that seems to be a lot to me for a brand new car, no?

I bet this car had in the $10k range of service. The cat flange breaking (new cat), ABS controller replaced, ecu replaced, clutch/flywheel/throw out bearing and several sets of pads/rotors were some big ones.

You are hard on a car. Must be all the 'street driving'

Sounds like my car, which is exactly why I won't be keeping it when the warranty is over.

Default I bought my A4 at 50k with no warranty..

.. luckily I havn't had any major problems (I had a water pump replaced, and I got a new aftermarket clucth). How much would it cost me to buy a warranty at this point? I have 56K on the car, and I was told the warranty costs way more than it will repay itself.. how much are you guys paying for a 50K warranty, and were have you guys been purchasing them?
