Default Corkey says you can't hear high RPM ping, and I agree. Might be a rattle of some sort you are

hearing. If you do suspect high RPM pinging (which again I believe is inaudible), then check to see if your timing is as advanced or more than it was at low RPM - because it needs to be more advanced as the piston is moving faster. If it doesn't ping at low RPM, and your timing is less advanced at high RPM, it's not ping.

Check to also make sure you are not severely leaning out at high RPM.

Best, check the knock sensors values, but they usually only can "hear" up to around 3-4K RPM only.

Default I'd like to find the boost issue.

but, I am getting a different DD at some point, which might be after this winter. I need a larger car for when baby #2 comes along, which we're talking about. The question is: do I keep the A4 for the track or do I get an already built track car?

yeah, EVOs are on the list of cars to build as a track car and sell the A4.

Default I have a similar issue, ping low RPM, we vagged the car, its running lean

Added two injector cleaners back to back for two tanks, got better
Need to find the reason for running lean, they say maybe a vaccum leak, bad N710?

Default weird... only thing I can think of is...

that your wastegate is sticking :-\ Like with the changes in throttle, it sticks shut, then when you let off, opens up and then frees itself and works almost normal. Nothing you can lub on that, is there?

That or the vacuum line is possibly pinching shut to the wastegate? That is part of the N75 valve though, isn't it? I'm not as familiar w/ the newer turbo setups w/ the internal wastegates compared to the older I5 setups.

I know i've had issues with my BPV/BOV from cheap vac lines pinching shut under vacuum, which doesn't allow the BPV/BOV to open up, which then partially stalls my turbo. Not a pleasant sound! Esp out of a $1600 turbo :-P
